Eanna Basketball Club Premier League 2015/2016

Eanna Basketball Club Premier League 2015/2016

The progression and development of the club over the last number of years has seen the entry of Éanna into the Premier League for the upcoming season and the establishment one of the largest academies in Ireland.

The success of our club relies on providing a competitive basketball environment in combination with promoting the game of basketball as a sport which is both enjoyable and fair.  This season will see Éanna compete in U11, U12, U14, U15, U17 and senior teams at Division 3, Division 1 and Premier League in addition to two academies based in Rathfarnham and Firhouse/Tallaght.  Éanna basketball remains committed to our club aims which were agreed collectively by our membership back in 2012.

  1. To ensure the future of Éanna basketball club
  2. To develop a more consistent level of coaching throughout the club
  3. To establish clearer pathways for players to progress through

While much has been achieved through the growth of the club and escalation to the Premier league for our senior team, the longevity and future success of our club rests in our Junior teams.  Part of our players development plan provides for opportunities for players to progress and compete at the highest level. This process takes place over many years through coaching and personal player practice.  The culmination for the most dedicated and motivated is the opportunity to play at the highest level in Basketball Irelands Premier League.

The 2015/2016 season will see Éanna Basketball Club compete at Premier League for the first time. The upcoming season sees many familiar faces from our National League squad, the return of former players to the club and exciting new additions.  The club are delighted to welcome back Conor Gallagher a former player with Notre Dame to the Premier League team. Other notable transfers to the club include Hibernian team player Luke Thompson, Stephen Fagan and Remigijus Dimiciukas. The club also welcome newcomer to the Premier League Duncan Wilson from London and college players Sean Gordon and Connor Poston from Gettysburg College, Pennsylvania.  The 2015/2016 Premier League team will be led once more by Coach Ciaran Mac Evilly and Michael Thompson.
